Mushrooms 2.0 Status

The tests are almost done and everything was running fine. We fixed some small issues on them and now want to check them on these issues again. If they pass this test, they are almost ready to be released. I still dont want to say a release date but i think its in the first half of April :)

Mushrooms 2.0

The Mushrooms 2.0 are now finished and we will now start the tests on them. We will try 200 of them in our Labs and see how they behave. Lets see what happens :)

New: They dont have a waterbucket anymore. You will now have a watering can that you have to wear and with that you can water the shrooms. Soil is still like the old system, but check your inventory because 2.0 Soil will only work with 2.0 Mushrooms.

Mushrooms go Open Source

Due to a mistake from me, i had no other choice as giving the scripts out for Open Source and learning purposes. People that spended Money on the Mushrooms will get the new Version Mushrooms when we have them done. ALso the tree trunk and the raincloud machines will be updated then.

Its like a loss for me but the reaction in the group showed me that its not really a loss, its more a way to learn and to make a nice and better new version. ( And make some people happy with the old one ^^ )

To get the old scripts full perm, just IM me inworld. I could post them here but then you will not read the whole comment to the end ^^

Status report

It looks like it is running fine atm. Some Spores disappear while planting a mushroom but that is an asset server problem from LL. However, if you plant a Spore, first check if you have the right group activated ( the one of your Land and i say that this way because some people using emerald can rez with any group if they have the right group in their profile ), then rez the Spore. Wait for ~10 seconds that the asset server can register it in its cache, then click it. If it still disappears without rezzing a mushroom, write a notecard containing the Name of the spore ( the race ) and the level and drop it on my Profile, i will check our server and give you a new one :)

I tried to make pictures of all Mushrooms, i have them on my PC now but now i have the Problem that they are 145 MB ... I will upload them asap ( and asap is the right word because my connection is very very slow )

We are currently working on Pictures of all Mushroom races that exist at the moment.
Sure there will be some more after we made the pictures but we will add them soon to the database.

Major issues found

We found some major issues in the Mushrooms :( Some spores just disappear insted of planting a mushroom, some Mushrooms throw no Spores ...

We will make a full new version the next days i promise. Everyone who bought a starterpack will get a fully new one and a gift certificate for Seid Products.

Ok, all work is done now, all things are already for sale at the Forrest. Now we only wait till Sunday to place the Starterkit vendor there.

The starterkit contains

* 1 Fly agaric spore
* 1 Watercan
* 1 Sack of Soil
* 1 Mushroom pot small ( its just deco. You dont need it to plant your mushroom )
* 1 Mushroom pot ( same as above )

All this will be available for only 50 L$ per pack.
We will not sell an "breeder pack" or something like that containing many mushrooms. Please buy one of them first and checkout how it works before you buy more. When you change every Spore your mushroom throws at the Big old mushroom, you will have enough mushrooms after a while and dont need to buy more ;)

Fixed small Issues

We fixed the last small Issues and fill the big mushroom now. Everything is going well at the moment and we can be sure to have everything working till Saturday :)

Big old Mushroom has found a home

The Big old Mushroom has found a good home in our new Forrest.
Now he is able to bring life in dead Spores :)

The Mushroom release will be at the end of this month but you can visit our Forrest from now on :) Take the teleporter on our Farm ( its in the barn where you arrive, in the pirate bar and in the gaming hall ) or teleport directly to it. Its up to you :)

Hey good news !

Its done !

The Mushroom scripts are all working fine. Fixed all major bugs out of them but i had to kill all water and fertilizer stuff for that.

Now its working this way:

You plant a Mushroom.
The mushrooms waterlevel and soilstate decreases over time.
You buy a can of water, rez it next to the Mushrooms and click it.
The can of water gives all mushrooms within 10 meters the choosen amount of water (until its empty or the mushroom has more water than the amount )
Same thing with the Soilbag. Yes, a Soilbag ^^ Looks more realistic as Fertilizer ;)

Now that the mushrooms work fine, its time for us to create diffrent races of them.

Like in the description post, we are creating diffrent levels for them. Lets take a look at the "Breeding" of the Mushrooms:

The Mushrooms drops a dead Spore every second day ( should, if lag doesnt make the time a lil longer ^^ )
The Spore gets a random level from 1 to 5 ( 1 = commmon, 2 = uncommon, 3 = rare, 4 = superrare, 5 = elite )
you pickup that spore and bring it to the big old mushroom ( located at our land and later maybe also on other sim or even you sim ^^ )
you get a new living spore from the big old mushroom depending on the level of your dead spore
This spore you can plant and grow up a new mushroom

We saw the market for Chickens and rabbits. Here are 3 things you can sell if you want. The dead spore ( People know the level but not the race ), the living spore ( people know the level and race ) or a living mushroom.

Now lets check what you need for the mushrooms:

You need water ( price per can is 2 L$, 100% water will be ok for ~3 days for a single mushroom )
You need soil ( Price per sack is 1 L$, 100% soil reaches for ~4,5 days for a single mushroom )

At last lets take a look at the bonus items ( not really needed ! Only bonus ! )

Treetrunk ( gives the mushrooms 10% soil per day, permanent item good for all mushrooms within 10m ! )
Raincloudmachine ( gives the mushrooms 10% water per day, permanent item good for all mushrooms within 10m ! )
Spore-o-Matic Fertilizer ( forces a Spore from every mushroom within 10m instantly, one time use ! )

We will release the mushrooms when we have enough mushrooms inside the "Big ol' mushroom". So we cannot say an exact date atm but it will be this month :)

Until now, everything is running fine, I think most, if not all, bugs will be fixed after this test, let us hope so! :)

Tests are running fine. We only have some small bugs but they are not really heavy :) For a first test its good i think. All test Mushrooms were growing perfect and none of them died during the test :D

So we will do a second test ( to get rid of the bugs ) soon and if this test will show good datas we are ready to release the Mushrooms :)

Our new Project has started. We are working on a living Mushroom for Second Life.

What is a Mushroom ?

A mushroom is the fleshy, spore-bearing fruiting body of a fungus, typically produced above ground on soil or on its food source. The standard for the name "mushroom" is the cultivated white button mushroom, Agaricus bisporus, hence the word mushroom is most often applied to those fungi (Basidiomycota, Agaricomycetes) that have a stem (stipe), a cap (pileus), and gills (lamellae, sing. lamella) on the underside of the cap, just as do store-bought white mushrooms.

The word "mushroom" can also be used for a wide variety of gilled fungi, with or without stems, and the term is used even more generally, to describe both the fleshy fruiting bodies of some Ascomycota and the woody or leathery fruiting bodies of some Basidiomycota, depending upon the context of the word.

Forms deviating from the standard morphology usually have more specific names, such as "puffball", "stinkhorn", and "morel", and gilled mushrooms themselves are often called "agarics" in reference to their similarity to Agaricus or their placement in the order Agaricales. What are Seid Mushrooms ?

Well, they are almost the same but without the fungus part that is not visible :)

They are a great decoration for your Place and they are also a Game. You need to give them Water and fresh soil to live on ( or you buy some special things where they can grow on to get a Bonus for that but this is not a must ) and they grow like real Mushrooms ( the small Mushrooms are very cute ^^ ). If you take care of your Mushroom, the it will throw Spores ( ~ 1 Spore every second day ). In fact that our mushrooms have no fungus part
these Spores will be dead ... poor Spores :(

BUT ! We found a way to bring them to life ! Yaaay :)

Take your Spore, bring it to the "Ol' magic Mushroom" and click it. The ghosts of this big Mushroom father will bring the Spore to life :)

What kind of Mushrooms are available ?

There is only one kind of Mushroom available at our Store. Its a small version of the "Big ol' Mushroom" the father of the Mushrooms but when he brings your Spores to life, they will be full of magic and maybe you will get one of the Elite Mushrooms :)

We dont want the People to buy hundrets of Mushrooms to get a special color or something like that while all Mushrooms look like each other just with another color or glow or something. We create 5 kinds of Mushrooms that have different forms, colors, shades and so on. And we give a chance to get a Special Mushroom. Some of them gives a Bonus to other Mushrooms and some of them ... well you will see :)

There are 5 Levels of Mushrooms:

* Level 1 -> Common Mushrooms ( chance = 100% )

* Level 2 -> Uncommon Mushrooms ( chance = 25 % )

* Level 3 -> Rare Mushrooms ( chance = 5 % )

* Level 4 -> Superrare Mushrooms ( chance = 2% )

* Level 5 -> Elite Mushrooms ( chance = 0.5 % )

Event Mushrooms will always be Level 3. They will have Special shapes, colors and maybe a little gift inside ;)

Where is that "Big Ol' Mushroom" ?

At the Moment he is in our Building box planted on fresh soil and waiting to be planted into the Soil of our Farm. When his roots are stong enough we will give you the chance to have one of his Brothers on your Place ( as a traffic Booster maybe ^^ ).

When can i have mah first Mushroom ?

We dont know. We are working hard on them but you know, everything that is done for other People should have no bugs. So please be patient. We will always pronounce the state of the Project.

Do i have to buy anything ?

Thats the hard part. Yes you have to buy Water and maybe Soil. BUT we are not a "Gimme all your Money" Company so the water will cost only 2 L$ ( one waterbottle is good for ~ 3 days per mushroom ) and the soil 1 L$ ( a pack of soil gives the mushroom 5% energy )

Also there will be extra packs for people that want more than 1 Mushroom so they dont need to buy every day or hundrets of waterbottles one by one.

What is it good for ?
